Operations Manager – Open Education AI

About the role

Purposeful Ventures is looking for an Operations Manager to build the operational backbone of Open Education AI (OEAI), a sector‑led organisation helping schools use data and AI safely. You will design systems, processes and governance structures from the ground up and support the organisation as it prepares to spin out as an independent charity.

Key responsibilities

• Manage OEAI’s operational systems, procurement, contracts, subscriptions and user access, ensuring security and governance.
• Support financial planning, budgeting, reporting and invoice processing in collaboration with the finance team.
• Maintain governance calendars, prepare board and steering committee papers, and archive documentation.
• Oversee communications – LinkedIn, community platform, website content and media enquiries.
• Plan and execute events, webinars and sector conference participation.
• Act as the central operational hub, identifying inefficiencies and improving workflows.

Required profile

• Passionate about creating a fairer society where young people thrive.
• Proven track record of taking ownership of operational or administrative functions and delivering improvements.
• Highly organised, able to prioritise multiple workstreams and stay calm under pressure.
• Excellent written communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Comfortable working in a start‑up environment and navigating ambiguity.

Required skills

• Experience with CRM platforms.
• Proficiency in using Zoom for meetings and webinars.
• Familiarity with the Circle community platform.
