Landscape Director – Luxury Resort

About the role

The Landscape Director leads the Landscaping and Vehicles departments of a multi‑acre luxury resort in the Caribbean. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Engineering, you will shape the resort’s landscaping strategy, manage the department’s budget, and oversee a diverse team of technicians, mechanics and grounds staff.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and execute the resort’s landscaping strategy across a 30+ acre property.
• Own the Landscaping Department’s P&L statement and ensure budget performance.
• Hire, train, schedule, discipline and manage a team of ~16, including an Assistant Landscaping Manager and Supervisors.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for grounds equipment and irrigation systems.
• Oversee irrigation networks and pest‑control programs to sustain plant and turf health.
• Coordinate closely with other resort departments to ensure seamless operations.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years in a landscaping leadership role within a luxury hotel or resort environment.
• Certification in horticulture.
• Seasoned manager at Director level or above.
• Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, preferably in dry/arid climates.
• Experience with pest‑control programs.
• Proven ability to lead a medium‑sized, diverse team.
• Caribbean experience preferred, but candidates from other remote, irrigation‑dependent locations are considered.
