Group Finance Director – Insurance & Investments

About the role

The Group Finance Director will lead financial management across the Group’s insurance, investment, asset‑management and related financial‑services businesses. Reporting to the Group CFO, this senior leader provides strategic financial guidance to the CEO, Board and shareholders, ensuring strong performance, regulatory compliance and effective risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead Group‑wide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance management.
• Oversee consolidated financial reporting, statutory accounts and management analysis for all subsidiaries.
• Drive FP&A, profitability analysis, cost optimisation and continuous improvement of financial performance.
• Manage insurance finance functions including premium revenue, claims, reserves, reinsurance and underwriting profitability.
• Supervise investment and asset‑management accounting, valuation, income reporting and performance measurement.
• Support capital planning, solvency, liquidity and balance‑sheet management at Group level.
• Direct treasury, cash management, funding requirements and working‑capital optimisation.
• Strengthen financial controls, governance policies and risk‑management frameworks.
• Provide financial analysis for M&A, joint ventures, strategic investments and capital allocation.
• Lead finance transformation initiatives such as ERP implementation, automation, analytics and digital finance tools.
• Develop and mentor Finance Directors, Controllers and senior finance teams across the Group.

Required profile

• 15–20+ years of progressive finance experience, preferably within insurance or related financial services.
• Proven senior leadership experience in a multinational or diversified financial group.
• Strong track record of delivering financial performance improvement and cost optimisation.
• Deep understanding of insurance finance, investment accounting, regulatory compliance and capital management.
• Experience advising C‑suite executives, Boards and external stakeholders.
