Director of Housekeeping – Luxury Caribbean Resort

About the role

We are seeking a Director of Housekeeping to lead the housekeeping department of a luxury resort in the Caribbean. This senior leadership position is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction across guest rooms, villas, public areas, and laundry facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all housekeeping operations to luxury standards across rooms, villas, and public areas.
• Develop, inspire, and supervise a large housekeeping team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Oversee scheduling, staffing, training, and performance management for the department.
• Manage departmental budgets, linen and amenity inventories, and implement cost‑control measures.
• Conduct regular quality inspections and apply corrective actions to maintain and elevate standards.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Engineering, and other departments to ensure seamless guest arrivals and room readiness.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across housekeeping processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Director of Housekeeping or Executive Housekeeper in a luxury hotel or resort.
• Caribbean or remote island resort experience is preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, develop, and motivate a diverse team.
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to luxury standards.
• Solid understanding of housekeeping operations, linen management, and budget control.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic resort environment.

• USD $4,500 – $5,000 gross per month.
• Additional service charge averaging USD $500 – $2,000 per month.
