Public Area Attendant (Housekeeping)

About the role

The Public Area Attendant cleans all public areas of the hotel, assists Housekeepers as needed and keeps guest corridors neat, vacuumed and dusted. The role is part of the Housekeeping Department and reports to Mario Connor, Assistant Director of Housekeeping.

Key responsibilities

• Keep mirrors, furniture, floors, ashtrays, elevators and doors clean and mark-free.
• Sweep, mop and dust service elevator landings, stairwells and linen storage rooms.
• Follow payroll and uniform procedures and report any issues to management promptly.
• Meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, walking and bending.

Required profile

• One to two years of previous experience in housekeeping.
• Previous experience in a luxury hotel is an asset.
• Strong communication skills.

Candidates are hired as casual, part-time employees and are expected to work overnight, on holidays and/or on weekends.
